Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, and other Chromium-based browsers. Anything that runs Chrome extensions. Firefox and Safari are not currently supported.
Do I need an account to use it?
No. The free plan works without any signup. You only need an account if you buy Pro - and even then it's just an email address.
Does it work offline?
Recording is fully offline. Pro license validation pings our server roughly once every 24 hours when you're connected, but the extension keeps working between checks.

What's the maximum recording length?
Free: 3 recordings per day, no length limit. Pro: unlimited recordings, no length limit. The practical cap is your disk space - a 1080p recording uses roughly 100 MB per 10 minutes.
What file format do recordings save as?
WebM (VP9 + Opus) by default. Pro users can convert to MP4 or GIF locally with the bundled converter - no upload required.
Can I record with both microphone and system audio?
Yes (Pro feature). Toggle both in the popup. Echo cancellation is applied by default so you don't get feedback loops.
Why can't I record system audio on macOS in screen mode?
macOS doesn't expose system audio to Chrome's screen-share dialog. Workaround: use Tab mode (tab audio captures perfectly), or install BlackHole / Loopback to route system audio to a virtual mic.

What's the difference between free and Pro?

What's the refund policy?
30 days, no questions asked. Email support@screencapture.site within 30 days of purchase and we'll process the refund. Lifetime keys are non-refundable after 30 days.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your Stripe billing portal (link in your purchase email). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Do you offer team or volume pricing?
For 5+ seats, email support@screencapture.site. Discounted bulk licenses + centralized billing. 50+ seats can lock in an annual contract.
Privacy & data
Where are my recordings stored?
On your machine, in your Downloads folder (or whatever folder you've configured in Chrome's download settings). Nothing is uploaded by default.
What data do you collect?
For Pro users: email and license key. For everyone: anonymous usage telemetry (which buttons get clicked, error rates) to improve the product. No recording content ever leaves your machine. Full details in our privacy policy.
Is the extension open source?
No. The extension is closed-source commercial software. We do, however, publish all bundled third-party libraries with attribution in the extension's About page.
