Trim from history

1. Open the extension popup -> history.
2. Click Trim on any recording.
3. A new tab opens with the trimmer.
4. Drag the left handle to where the recording should start.
5. Drag the right handle to where it should end.
6. Preview the trimmed range with the play button.
7. Click Export. The trimmed file downloads in the same format as the original.

How it works

The trimmer uses MediaSource APIs to crop the WebM without re-encoding the surviving frames. That's why it's near-instant and doesn't lose quality.

If you trim a WebM and want MP4 output, trim first, then run the result through the MP4 converter.

Limitations

• You can only trim the start and end. To cut a middle section, use a desktop editor (DaVinci Resolve is free).
• Very long recordings (60+ minutes) may take a few seconds to load. The trimmer is doing real work; it'll finish.
